Today I have the pleasure of bringing you an interview with up-and-coming Techno producer/DJ Juheun. Juheun has been an adjunct professor at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona and has been teaching courses on Electronic Music production and history, and DJing for the past two years. He currently runs three courses per semester:

Irish-born Los Angeles-based Octopus label boss and producer Sian has announced the labels 100th release on the 5th December with their new compilation: OCTOPUS100. The compilation will feature a hand-picked selection of tracks as well as remixed classics from artists including Pleasurekraft, Juheun, Shelley Johannson, Carlo Lio and Loco & Jam to name a few. Octopus will be hosting a series of pop-up events “Octopus100’ in the USA towards the end of the year and into 2017, where they will be focusing on small intimate venues with no more than 100 guests, all these events will be showcasing the best of Octopus roster artists as well as the exclusive merchandise. Early 2017 will see a follow-up series called “Vs” where tracks from Mark Reeve, Gregor Tresher, Julian Jewell and Sian have already been confirmed to be released as support singles.
Juheun ‘Pulsar’ (Octopus Black)
Juheun takes us on a bleepy, minimal trip into the centre of a black hole on this new Octopus Black release.
Big, bad marauding bass pumps away at the core of this extremely likeable release. The beats are simple and carry ‘Pulsar’ along at pace, while catchy bleep arrangements are layered on top of one another to give it real earworm appeal. This will blow up massively in the main room at Space.

A native to the deserts of the southwestern United States, Korean-American techno DJ/producer Juheun is a forward-thinking artist who constantly works to find the ideal balance between analog and digital sounds, leading to magnetic performances and darkly energetic productions. Making his start in 2009, he found inspiration in underground music amongst the unexposed electronic scene in Arizona at the time. Coming up strong in the American techno scene, Juheun is a fresh face on the prestigious modern techno label Octopus Recordings with his latest EP ‘Acceleration’ out now.

The newcomer is a four-track techno EP with hypnotic and airy approach by Juheun – an American producer, who takes his roots in minimal techno.
His latest production is forward-thinking, clear and not messy at all, which is rarely a case for modern techno.
If you are a techno fan than you are certainly always on the lookout for great new techno tracks and artists. Well, I have a hell of an artist to share with you all today! Juheun is a name that has been causing a stir in the underground techno community for some time. If you are a true techno fan than you may have heard of him before. He is a native of the southwest United States and since 2009 he has been grinding hard to make a name for himself, mostly around the Arizona area. But his ear for good music, his understanding of all the ingredients needed to make relevant techno beats, and his knack to create sounds that techno lovers flock to have allowed his popularity to grow among the masses. And now, as the United States techno scene is healthier than ever, Juheun is taking his career to the next level. I am pleased to announce that Juheun’s ‘Acceleration’ EP has arrived on Octopus Recordings and I can honestly say that is a seriously impressive collection of work.
I can’t really remember my very first gig, I spent a lot of time enjoying the scene and trying to soak up as much information about dance music as I could, while practicing and learning the craft for years before getting my first official gig. I would spend hours and entire days spinning at friends houses, my bedroom, in basements, and eventually my living room once I moved out of my parents house. I can however tell you about one of my earlier gigs that really stands out in my mind. (That I can share at least lol)
